There are many ways of creating texture on a quilt. I wanted to try something that would give dimension, expression and textural qualities to my work.
I dyed yards of cheesecloth, (we call it muslin in Australia.) and began experimenting.
I can create the entire image in the soft folds of the cheesecloth or I can add preprinted fabric as a base and create a soft image.
A 5 day workshop consists of
1. Creating the base image. (either from your creative design or mine)
2. Dying the muslin and selection of fabrics.
3. Quilting, Texture, and embellishment. I love fine quilting and I will share my quilting illustration techniques with the students.
